I forbindelse med åens overdækning blev der fremsat ønske om, at byens nye hovedfærdselsåre skulle have det samme navn fra Vester Allé til <ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">[[Aarhus Havn|</ins>havnen<ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">]]</ins>.
